Here is “Robert,” 10 years old and painfully shy. It’s September 2023, and his mom is requiring him to take part in Thumb Kids Theatre. When he comes to rehearsals, we find him hiding behind the stage curtains!
Fast forward to April 2024. Robert is a confident swashbuckling pirate in our production of Peter Pan. He delivers his lines with confidence before four packed performances at the Harbor Beach Community Theater.
With a whole lot of love, coaxing and encouragement over eight months, this boy found his voice, his self-confidence, and bunches of new friends.

Thumb Kids is a newly formed 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting health and encouragement for children and youth ages 5 through 18 years. Through the creative processes of producing plays and musicals, we get kids off their phones and into a healthy and vibrant teamwork setting. Under the guidance of a strong team of adults, kids and youth learn all the aspects of creating a stage production – choreography, musicianship, dance, voice development, prop and set construction, and more.
The production costs involved run between $15,000 and $20,000 per year, including royalty fees, sound system upgrades, costume rentals, salaries, and advertising. These costs are offset about 20% by student participation fees. We keep these fees as low as possible to afford the widest participation for our community.
We are asking your company to become a recurring sponsor to support Thumb Kids. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), your sponsorship is tax exempt. Your company’s name and logo would appear in our playbill and be featured in our advertising. As a local Thumb business, you would be fostering the health and encouragement of our community’s kids.
